Somehow, a childhood filled by Star Trek reruns, KISS posters, and roles in youth productions of Shakespeare classics led Mark Warren to be playing guitar in a musical about America’s most infamous (alleged) murderess. After the requisite post-high school years of aimless garage combos, Mark found himself in the midst or Tampa Bay’s original music scene during a late-’80s/early-00s golden age with bands the likes of Mod-L Citizen, Leonard Croon Band, and Barely Pink. The latter quartet released three albums and an EP and in Japan, were labelmates with Cheap Trick for about 20 minutes. As a guitarist with Barely Pink, Vodkanauts, and Sara Rose Band, Mark has performed at dozens of concerts for WMNF 88.5 Community Radio, honoring artists such as David Bowie (performing The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars in its entirety at five separate events), Pink Floyd (The Wall, four times), and The Who (Tommy). He and his Theremin were part of the award-winning band in Return To The Forbidden Planet.
