Charles Wilcox has been performing for over 15 years. In his first production, a grade-school performance of The Twelve Days of Christmas, he was featured as a cow. In college he appeared in several plays for West Virginia University of Parkersburg including You Can’t Take it With You (Kolhenkov); Oliver! (Bill Sikes); Hamlet (Hamlet); and How the Grinch Stole Christmas (The Grinch). His first role for the Actor’s Guild, based in West Virginia, saw him turn in a performance as Dr. Einstein Arsenic and Old Lace. Also with the Guild, he took the lead in Dial ‘M’ for Murder as the diabolical Tony Wendice, and that of the ill-fated schizophrenic Barry Klemper in The Boys Next Door – for which he won two awards for best performer (OCTA and South East Theater Conference). He performed in many other Guild productions throughout the years including The Sunshine Boys; Too Clever by Half; Harvey; and Biloxi Blues. After leaving the Guild in 2000 to move to Florida, Chuck contemplated furthering his arts degree and signed up with Hillsborough Community College – Brandon and appeared in Rumors (Ken); Isn’t It Romantic? (Simon) and in one of his favorite performances, Wait Until Dark as the psychotic Harry Roat, Jr. Chuck looks forward to his first performance at Jobsite Theater and wishes to thank his mother and father; Robert Rake, who taught him everything he knows; Reg Poling, fellow WV expatriate and the best instructor anyone could ask for; Carrie Fee for helping him chase his theatrical white elephant; everybody in the Theater department of HCC – Brandon; and of course, David Jenkins and Jobsite for the opportunity.
