Animals Out of Paper auditions

Jobsite is accepting materials for our 2022 production of Rajiv Jospeh’s Animals Out of Paper, running July 13 – Aug. 7. Tatiana Baccari directs. This is an 8-week contract, paid $300 a week, with rehearsals beginning on or around June 14.

All three roles in the show are available:

Ilana, female/femme presenting, 40-45. Ilana is a once renowned Origamist in the throws of a personal crisis. She’s lost her apartment, recently been divorced, her dog has run away and she’s barricaded herself in her work studio. She’s a survivor who deeply loves her work.

Suresh, male/masculine presenting, 17. Indian/South Asian. Suresh is an origami prodigy. He loves loud hip-hop on his iPod. He’s a teenager who’s a big talker but when it comes down it, he’s a kid mourning the loss of a parent.

Andy, male/masculine presenting, 35-45. Andy is a cheery, energetic high school teacher. He counts his blessings, literally. Beneath his nerdy exterior is a kind, sensitive person with integrity.

The show runs Thu. – Sat. evenings at 8pm and Sun. at 4pm. All personnel are called 1 hour prior to curtain.

This call is exclusive to non-union performers 18 years and older in the Tampa Bay area. We cannot offer AEA contracts, housing, travel, or per diem for out of town performers.
