GENERAL AUDITIONS
We are looking for performers of all types age 18+ for placement in our 2026-27 season!*
Unless you are a current Jobsite Ensemble member, you should plan on attending the Theater Tampa Bay Unified Auditions on Sat., June 6, at the New Tampa Performing Arts Center if you wish to be considered for our 2026-27 season.
If you cannot make Unifieds because you will not be in town, we will accept a video if received by 6pm on June 6. Please understand that a video option should only be used if you are not in town June 6 between 8am and 5pm — we prefer to see everyone in person and believe you will have a better chance of getting a callback that way. We do live theater, a video is a very poor substitution but we understand that some folks may have already made plans.
Jobsite Ensemble members do not need to attend Unifieds, but should reach directly out to casting to begin a conversation.
If submitting a video, please follow these instructions carefully, submissions that do not conform to our call will not be reviewed:
- Send a single PDF file containing both headshot and resume (no jpg/doc combinations, please) and make sure that the filename is your name (eg, Walton-Goggins.pdf, adittimittal.pdf etc).
- In the body of the email, include a link (YouTube, Vimeo, etc — no file attachments, please!) to your audition video. Make sure that the video is not set to private.
- If you desire to be considered for our Shakespeare production please include a comic Shakespeare monologue or sonnet roughly 1 minute. Please include another 1 minute non-classical contrasting monologue of your choice.
- If you are not interested in being seen for Shakespeare include two contrasting contemporary one-minute monologues.
- Please do not include a song, we are not casting a musical this season.
- Email the PDF and the video link (no attachments!) to artisticdirector@jobsitetheater.org by 6pm on Sat., June 6. Late submissions will not be reviewed.
CASTING NEEDS
Our season opener, MISERY, will feature the 2023 cast — no roles are open.
MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. Casting 7 comedic actors with chops for the Bard. The roles of Benedick and Beatrice have been cast. Rehearsals begin mid-Dec. with performances Jan. 13 – Feb. 7, 2027. This production rehearses over the holidays, out of town travel will likely not be able to be accommodated, and performers must be available for weekday field trip matinees.
JOHN PROCTOR IS THE VILLAIN. Rehearsals start early Feb. 2027. Show runs Mar. 10 – Apr. 4, 2027. Seeking men and women 18+ who believably read as high schoolers, 1 man to play 30s, 1 woman to play mid-20s to early 30s.
PROOF. Rehearsals begin mid-April, 2027. Show runs May 12 – June 56, 2027. Casting one woman who reads mid-20s, one woman late 20s to 30s, one man late 20s, one man 50s to 60s.
THE HOBBIT. Rehearsals begin mid-June, 2027, with the show running Jul. 14 – Aug. 8, 2027. Casting 5 incredibly versatile performers to create an entire universe of creatures. Must be able to transform physically and vocally on a dime, special skills that can contribute to the creation of theater magic a plus. This is a play with music, but we are least interested in singing ability provided a tune can be carried as part of a group.
TBA. We will update this information once a show is announced. Rehearses starting mid July and runs Aug. 18 – Sep. 5, 2027.
CALLBACKS
There is no virtual option for callbacks, performers must be present for consideration.
A callback schedule will be available by mid-June, but expect all of them to take place on Monday nights in July and Aug. Callback criteria will vary by production.
All roles are paid bi-weekly. Pay is competitive for the region and includes a profit share. This past season, that saw contracts earn $400 – $650 per week for no more than 5 days/20 hours of rehearsal a week. We are unable to offer AEA contracts for productions in the Jaeb Theater (Much Ado, Hobbit).
Jobsite rehearses weekday evenings and weekend afternoons, typically Tu-Th 6:30-10:30pm and Sa-Su 1-5pm. Actors are expected to be at all rehearsals and performances, we do not carry understudies. Conflicts during the rehearsal period may not be able to be accommodated, if they are those hours will be deducted from weekly payroll on a prorated scale. Contracts are 8 to 9 weeks in length.
We are unable to offer travel, housing, per diem, or pay for parking. All contract terms are non-negotiable.
Please feel free to drop any additional questions through the form below.
*While some characters in the season may be under the age of 18, we are only looking for performers over the age of 18 who can play younger. Performers must reach their 18th birthday prior to contract signing for any production.
