Christen Petitt Hailey is a playwright, actor, director and designer – she is currently the Theater Department Manager for the Patel Conservatory and a member of the Jobsite Board of Directors. You may have seen some of her raunchy hit late night shows, such as The Ballad of Hipster McBigballs, Chapel Perilous, and Sexy Sexy Murder… and be on the lookout for her EPIC Star Wars homage, Sluts in Space, in July! Her hilarious short story, The Curling Iron, won the 2012 Creative Loafing Fiction Contest; she received a 2012 Hillsborough County Individual Artists Grant in Playwriting; and she also won a 2013 Creative Loafing Best of the Bay award for Best Local Playwright. She has previously appeared onstage in productions such as William Shakespeare’s Land of the Dead (as Queen Elizabeth I), Lysistrata, The Tibetan Book of the Dead, The Serpent, A Dream Play, The Rocky Horror Show, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Kiss Me Kate, and Ganymede. Christen is currently training to be a registered yoga teacher, and hopes to have her 200 hour certification by summer.
