Dan Khoury

Dan Khoury

Dan Khoury continues to inflict himself upon the theatre-going public. Considering himself an actor, despite a drawer full of reviews to the contrary, he returns proudly to Jobsite where he last appeared as Norman in subUrbia. He has performed with American Stage, Gorilla Theatre, Acorn Theatre and the Fresh! Live! Theatre. One of his dubious talents, apparently, is playing dead people: French composer Erik Satie in Memoirs of an Amnesiac at the Salvador Dali Museum, and Miguel de Cervantes and Kahlil Gibran for the Times Festival of Reading at Eckerd College. A widely-respected director (he says), his work has been seen on the Tampa Bay area stages of the St. Petersburg Little Theatre, where he did eleven years hard time as Operations Coordinator, the Francis Wilson Playhouse, the Seminole Players, the Loft Theatre and the Venue Ensemble. In addition to creating Khoury’s Immutable Laws of Theatre, which he codified and published at the request of practically nobody, he is currently at work on Fortune’s Fool, his version of the Great American Play.  It takes place somewhere in England.  Having found it increasingly difficult to find actors willing to work with him (except this lot), he has toured with his self-penned one-man show Salvador Dali: Dream This, of which the Rocky Ledge Jumper stated, “Mr. Khoury is onto something.  Or on something.  But definitely one of the two.”
