Jobsite seeks transgender or gender-queer performer

Jobsite Theater, resident theater company of the Straz Center, is seeking an actor who can play late teens (17 is the age given in the script) who was assigned female and now identifies as transgender or gender-queer (a person who does not subscribe to conventional gender distinctions but identifies with neither, both, or a combination of male and female genders).

Due to contractual reasons, we cannot announce the title of the play at this time, but the production will begin rehearsals on or around Feb. 5, with the show running March 9 – April 1 in the Shimberg Playhouse at the Straz Center. This title will potentially replace the canceled Man in Snow.

Jobsite will give preference to an actor local to the Tampa Bay area, and cannot provide travel or housing to an out of area performer. No Actors Equity Association contracts are available for this role. This is a paid position.

Please submit a current headshot and resume no later than Mon., Dec. 18 to auditions AT jobsitetheater DOT org, you may also send general inquiries through the form on this post.

Jobsite Theater is an Equal Opportunity Employer with active harassment and whistleblower policies in place. We consider our space to be an artistic home, one built on open collaboration and mutual respect. A creative space must also be a safe space.
