Dearest Friends of Jobsite
We are just over a year away from our tenth anniversary. We’re extremely proud of our past, as well as concerned for our future. We’ve seen the budgets for arts organizations slashed and burned by the county, state and federal government – just as we’ve become eligible for the grants we need. We realize, now more than ever, how important it is for us to really develop a solid core of donors from the private and corporate worlds. We’re still trying to work out salaries for our core employees – individuals who are not yet paid for their administrative time – as well as living wages for our artists who all work at least one other job to bring you their craft.
You’ve seen first-hand all we have done in making this company a success. You know what we can do. Every penny made from our shows goes back to pay for royalties on the plays, hard costs for sets and costumes, advertising to get people in the theater, and stipends to pay our artists a fraction of what their time, talent and energy are worth. We do this while offering tickets well below the regional average – we’re dedicated to keeping theater an economical choice for all ages and segments of society.
We’re also up against rising costs in materials and increasingly competitive bidding on rights for plays, which now require full payment in advance. From the outside this could look unbearably grim, but I know we can rise above this and climb even higher with your dedicated support as our closest allies.
You already attend our shows and spread the word for us. We can’t thank you enough for that. You’ve been instrumental in making us who we are. We’re hoping that you can help us become what we can be by becoming a part of our annual campaign and – if you are not already – becoming a season ticket holder.
As an added bonus, all donors who give by June 29 will receive benefits through the end of the 07-08 season.
If you’d like to make a donation of any amount, we’d love to hear from you. There is truly no such thing as a small gift. We need every bit of support we can get in these critical times. If you’re interested in other options not listed, we can work with you. Feel free to call me at 813.956.6633 or email me. Don’t forget, The Jobsite Theater is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit arts organization and all donations made to Jobsite are fully tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.
In addition to cash donations, Jobsite seeks sponsorships from area businesses as well as in-kind trade. We have season sponsors in Creative Loafing, Bright House Networks, SticksofFire.com and Discount Printing and Graphics and have also had relationships with generous businesses like Steven P. Widoff Photography, Sherry’s Yesterdaze, Bay Stage Lighting, Pritchard Photography and Atlantic.net.
We hope you can join us as part of our ever-growing family.
Yours very truly,
David M. Jenkins
