Paul J. Potenza
Paul J. Potenza has worked as an actor and director in the Tampa Bay area for the past 27 years. He performed in the very first play to grace the stage of the Shimberg Playhouse (then called the Off Center Theater) with Eric Bogosian's one man tour-de-force Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll. He was a member of the original Actors Arena at Ruth Eckerd Hall and has worked with many of the Bay areas finest theater companies including Eckerd Theater Company, The Loft Theater Company, Tampa Players, Stageworks, American Stage and The Center Theater Company at TBPAC. Potenza is happiest about his continued collaboration and artistic relationship with Jobsite. Notable performances include The Player in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Michal in The Pillowman, Nick the Fire Captain in The Guys, Johnny in Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, Arnold in The Boys Next Door, Donnie in American Buffalo and Renfield in Dracula. Potenza has directed Jobsite's productions of Topdog/Underdog, subUrbia and Martin McDonagh's The Beauty Queen of Leenane. He is a goldsmith by trade and has owned and operated Design One Jewelers in Clearwater, now in its 28th year in business. Potenza shares his life with his wife Roz (the artist in the family) and their two dogs Ziti, and Hoagie. Paul dedicates this season to all the sharp kids at Jobsite, without whom all these challenging theatrical endeavors would not exist. From my heart, I thank you all.
