David M. Jenkins
David M. Jenkins is the Producing Artistic Director for Jobsite and a founding member of the company. He attended Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, holds a BA in Theater Performance from USF, an MFA in Acting from the University of Florida, and is in the second year of PhD coursework in the Department of Communication at USF where he focuses on Performance Studies, Resistance and Social Change. He has also studied with Moscow State University, the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS) and the San Francisco Mime Troupe. Jobsite directing credits include: Quills, The Taming of the Shrew, reasons to be pretty, Mindgame, Dog Sees God, Dead Man's Cell Phone, Pericles, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, The History of the Devil, Embedded (with Shawn Paonessa), Gorey Stories, Woman in Mind, The Pillowman and Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, We Won't Pay! We Won't Pay! and The Mineola Twins. Favorite local roles include Dr. Prentice in What the Butler Saw, Rosencrantz in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, goofing off in the (abridged) plays, originating the role of Jack in The March of the Kitefliers, Lord Byron in Bloody Poetry, Clive/Cathy in Cloud Nine, Lee in True West and Phil in Hurlyburly. He is excited to return to the stage in July of 2012 with Closetland. He enjoys Gator and Buccaneer football, craft beer, DIY projects, playing guitar, playing video games and especially playing video games where he gets to hold a guitar. He lives in Tampa Heights in a neat old house with his beautiful wife, 3 dogs and a mess of cats.
